The pattern on this bowl shows a collection of seeds. It reminds me of an indigenous Australian painting my husband and I bought while visiting Uluru in the Australia's Red Center. The painting shows groups of people meeting around watering holes, depicted by a group of circles. It is a painting of gathering and abundance. We are reminded of the bounty we have in our lives and to be grateful for that abundance. By serving food in this bowl we share our abundance with others.
This bowl is hand-built from redstone clay with a thick layer of white slip on inside. Each one is hand carved so patterns will vary from bowl to bowl. The bowl is roughly 10 inches across with a height of about 2.5 inches. This shape of bowl is a favorite because it accommodates large or small portions well.
